Marked Silence (diptych) (2025)

CONCEPTUAL note
Marked Silence (diptych) confronts the body as a site where external pressures leave lasting stains. The curve traced from shoulder to nape is not inscription chosen by the self, but the residue of forces that mould and silence. These marks are not memories reclaimed, but traces imposed—gestures that linger even after correction or restraint has passed.
The diptych format stages continuity across fragments: two images that together reveal how presence is shaped by what remains. Silence here is not emptiness, but imposition—an enforced quiet that presses into the skin. Yet within this residue, there is also resistance: the persistence of a body that, though marked, refuses disappearance.
