CONCEPTUAL note
9–5 reflects on the quiet erosion of self that can emerge within systems of repetition. Each torn sheet of paper becomes a fragment of persistence — a surface marked by time, gesture, and the effort to remain whole.
Shot under stark white light, the paper’s edges suggest both wound and rhythm, tracing how structure endures even as it frays. The work does not condemn routine; rather, it observes what happens when presence becomes measured — when the act of showing up turns into a cycle of quiet disappearance.
The title evokes the regulated day, where time is punched, recorded, and standardized. Yet within that grid, something still insists — a pulse, a remnant of individuality that resists complete automation.
